OAC Championship Tournament

The first Ohio Athletic Conference championship was played in 1969, when the conference was realigned into two divisions. Baldwin-Wallace College, the Northern Division champion, lost a 3–2 heartbreaker to the Southern Division champ, Ohio Wesleyan University, in a single-game playoff. Before that game the OAC champion had been determined by the regular season standings.

The championship format was changed to a three-game series in 1972. BW won the first of back-to-back Northern Division championships that season and hosted the series, taking Marietta College to three games before losing the title.

Today the OAC champion is crowned at a four-team, double-elimination tournament hosted by the regular season champion. BW hosted the inaugural tournament in 1985, winning the championship in dramatic fashion by coming out of the losers bracket to sweep three games on the final day. The Yellow Jackets went on to host three of the first four tournaments and have qualified for the tournament 21 times. In 2018, the Jackets swept through the winners bracket, outscoring their opponents 56–19 in three games to win their second tournament championship.
